Holland has had a crush on Calvin, aka Jack the busker, for months. She loved to hear him play his guitar to commuters on the subway and he was good looking to boot. One night, after getting drunk with her friend Lulu, she goes to watch him play and gets shoved onto the tracks by a strange man. She awakes in an ambulance and is told that they got an anonymous tip that someone was on the tracks but the man said he wasn't a witness. Holland has no idea why Jack (Calvin) would lie to the authorities and when she tries to confront him she gets no answers. Then the show her uncle directs is about to lose their star to another project and the star musician abruptly quits. Holland ask her uncle to listen to Calvin play and after hearing him, her uncle wants him for the show but they receive some startling news which explains Calvin's inaction in fall at the subway and derail her uncle's an to keep his successful Broadway production up and running.

I enjoyed the dynamic between Calvin and Holland. Holland was a shy but talented writer that had run out of things to write about following graduation and was in a dead end job working the front for her uncle's Broadway show. I enjoyed her journey throughout the story and how she finally realized her dreams. I also liked Calvin who was a talented Julliard graduate that worked hard to be a great guitarist but was also humble and entertaining. I enjoyed the book at would recommend it to anyone looking for a fun romance story with a satisfying ending.
