Roomies is truly Christina Lauren at their finest. It follows the story of Holland, a writer struggling to find her creativity and identity, and Calvin, a musician trying to keep his dreams alive. Through a marriage of convenience and various obstacles, they not only find love but also themselves.
Christina Lauren’s writing has never been better and I truly struggled with not being able to put this book down while simultaneously trying to savor it because I never wanted it to end. I became incredibly invested in this couple and couldn’t help but root for them. Holland is such a relatable character that so many people are going to identify with, myself included. Figuring out who you are and your place in this world can be incredibly difficult, especially when it feels like everyone else has their shit together. She’s a strong and witty heroine with a heart of gold while Calvin is the sweetest, most swoon-worthy hero that you instantly fall in love with.
Roomies has officially taken over as my favorite Christina Lauren book and even though I am devastated that it’s over, I’m excited to reread it over and over again.
