"Roomies" was my first Christina Lauren book. I've heard good things about their novels and when I saw the plot of this book (girl with a crush on a stranger enters into a marriage of convenience with said crush to help him achieve his dreams...and maybe fall in love along the way) I was sold - the premise was a perfect set up for a sweet romance with light comedic/dramatic moments and something I knew I could really get behind. I was not at all disappointed. "Roomies" gave me the same feelings as every great romantic comedy film I loved growing up. I fell in love with all the characters and - true story - was late to a party because when I had 8- pages left, I couldn't put it down and I had to know how it ended. Holland is super relatable and her chemistry with Calvin is undeniable. Her uncles, characters that could easily have been one dimensional filler, were so fleshed out and delightful I wish we had more of them. The book was funny. It was (sometimes) sad. And it, perhaps most importantly, it made me smile. A lot. I've already recommended it to several friends and am jealous of them since they get to read it for the first time.
