Roomies starts off right in the action, drawing you with Holland's crush on a subway station performer and hooking you with a frightening altercation. Holland is likable and easy to identify with - she's a young woman trying to make her dreams come true, but aware of how lucky she is to be supported and loved by her uncles.

Calvin, the subway performer, is a mysterious guy, and when Holland encounters him again unexpectedly in a totally random place, you know it's fate! I'm dying to know what happens next between Calvin and Holland, and finding out what his story is.

The cover is just ok to me, I don't think it would've convinced me to pick up the book and read the blurb. It shows me that the story takes place in New York and an engagement or marriage is involved, but it isn't particularly eye-catching.
