This book is full of short but interesting sections on the history of super heroes that can be read sequentially or separately. Some sections are dedicated to specific characters while others relate to specific time periods or types of heroes. The layout has a nice aesthetic that displays comic book art throughout history, complete with various cover art within the pertinent contexts. I especially appreciated that the book doesn't focus only on the most popular super heroes (i.e. Batman or Superman) but more obscure super heroes as well such as the Archie or Harvey characters. Overall, it's a fun read for super hero aficionados who want to learn more about the history of comic books and about a diverse array of characters.
