My husband is a huge comic fan, so I've been "dragged" to see every Marvel and DC movie since the first Iron Man film released. Since then, I've learned quite a bit about the genre and its origins from conversations with my husband and watching the films, but I felt I was still missing something. Rise of the Superheroes has helped to fill that gap. It was enlightening to read about the early days of the popular superheroes we see in movies and on a wide variety of promotional products. Honestly, reading this book made me long for the life of the Silver Age -- things seemed more complicated yet simpler and more innocent at the same time. It was also a lot of fun to see early incarnations of today's popular superheroes. Can't wait to share this book with others!
