This is a really interesting look into the history of comic books and the way they've become what they are today, as well as highlights from along the way. I love the beautiful photos of cover art from classic comics. It was also really interesting reading about when Supergirl was first introduced (Superman #123, August, 1958) and why, and how the comic book publisher went about doing it.

I also love that the chapters are divided into the major comic book ages, with a sublist that shows which comics are featured within that chapter. That way if I'm really just interested in Marvel comics I know I can skip right to Chapter 3. Or if I wan't to learn more about Thor, I know where to look.

Chapter 5 is really great because it looks at other comic book houses besides the titans of DC and Marvel. As an Archie comics fanatic as a kid, I really love that they include comics other than the really big names.
