In addition to being purely fun to look at (some of the old comic book covers were hilarious), the content of this book was a great historical overview of the growth and development of multiple superhero franchises. Tosh details, through image and text, popular superheros such as Spiderman, Iron Man (who used to look like the iron giant!), and Batman, and lesser known superheros such as Fatman the Human Flying Saucer. As someone who knows little about superheros beyond their cultural relevance, I appreciated the significant cultural events outside of this realm that Tosh included to give the content a greater context. I recommend this book for adults and kids alike, as it is an easy, entertaining, and informative read!
