Replenishing the Sea of Galilee by Wagih Abu-Rish follows the Dinar family in a sweeping saga that spans decades, religions, and borders.
I wanted to like this book. I was excited to read something from this part of the world. I was very interested in reading a translated book too. However I barely got past the beginning of the book before I DNFed the whole thing. It was definitely not the book for me. It was weird and not in a good way, I was creeped out by the beginning and again not in a good creeped out way. It seemed to me that the twins had an unusual vibe between them that I didn’t like. The priest was creepy and the way he interacted with Rasheed was creepy. The priest part of the story were especially disturbing. I realize that part of the story but it just didn’t work for me.
In the end the book was such a disappointment that I stopped reading.
