I don't know what I was expecting based on the summary but it wasn't what I read. I found myself immediately immersed in this world and its characters. I believe the first chapters will be controversial but that only made me more interested. I already feel invest in Rasheed and Rasheeda and I'm curious where this story will take them.
The cover of the book was not very enticing to me - it felt a little sparse and general with the bird imagery. I do love the typeface though.
