Slow start and not a fan of the writing style

I wish I could give it more stars, but I decide really early on if I enjoy the author’s writing style in a book, and I did not in this case. It also begins slowly, in my opinion, although the overall plot seemed intriguing. Hopefully it picks up speed and is as interesting as the plot makes it seem that it could be.
