This book begins very quickly, with the courtship of Kareem and Amina, and the second chapter beginning with Amina's death in childbirth to Rasheed and Rasheeda. The book is engaging and leaves me definitely wanting to read more. Although we know the characters for such a short time, your heart breaks when Amina dies, knowing the love that she and Kareem have for each other will be difficult to replicate. This book also teaches a lot about Muslim culture that I did not previously know, and I would love to keep reading it!
