This is my favorite genre to read and was super excited to have won both of the books in the series so far. This review is my opinion of Crimson Lake and Redemption Point and the author overall. Candice Fox and this series are on my list as I anxiously await the next installment. Which says a lot because that means Ms. Fox brought the characters to life for me and I need to know what they are up to and what mess they have found themselves in.
The stories take place in Australia, which I really enjoyed, and the two main characters, Ted and Amanda come together because they both have a dark past that they are dealing with and running from. There are more minor characters in these books as well and she just has this special knack of making them interesting and bringing them to life for the reader. Ted and Amanda are a crime-solving duo and have the attention of the town because of who they are, where they've been, and what they may or may not have done. Amanda.... I love her!! She is an extremely intelligent, colorful, no nonsense character, with a sense of humor I couldn't get enough of. Amanda and Ted are the perfect odd couple and are just what the other needs.
Now this is some excellent writing folks! It's perfectly paced, the characterization is amazing and the stories are sharp and to the point. Read them!!
