This is one of the more intriguing excerpts I have read in awhile. The author managed to cram in quite a few things that I want to learn more about. My main concern though is knowing this is part of a series, will Claire's rapist finally be brought to justice or is this something that will be stretched out into future books. My preference is it gets resolved in this book or it will feel like a giant disappointment if it is more of a to be continued type of ending. Regardless, the beginning of the book shows a lot of potential for a good read.
