The first person narrator seems so evil that I am certain this book has a scary and realistic tale. However, with all of the violence in the news, including the recent solving of the 1973 murder of 11-year-old O'Keefe girl in Newport Beach, California, I found myself wondering if I was up for a tale of abductions of young girls or pre-teens. I stopped reading the preview and asked myself: should I pass on reading this book? Many years ago I loved the book 'The Lovely Bones' even though I found it tragic and sad; some of my friends at the time said it was too violent for them to enjoy. I was surprised, and yet here I started to feel that way now after just a few preview pages of 'Redemption Point.' Then I stopped and reread the book's description about the protagonist trying to clear his name; so maybe I have misunderstood that narrator and should have kept reading the preview to see what the word REDEMPTION has to do with it. Now, I am curious and hope to win the raffle. I guess this is what good writing does - it stirs up emotions! The cover of the book is satisfactory; I may or may not have picked it up in a book store.
