Excellent story with interesting and complex characters. I love the writing style of this book. The alternating points of view was a fantastic way to tell this story that keeps the reader guessing until the very end about who the real killer is. I really enjoyed being able to see things from the different characters points of view. The deeper messages about race, diversity in schools, how students of color are treated, especially those in low income areas were profound and important. I really enjoyed reading this and strongly recommend it. I will definitely read more by this author! The story allows us to see each character as so much more than their circumstances and as the person they truly are underneath - someone with hopes, dreams, ambitions, no different than anyone else, deserving of respect. The overall message of the book is strong and there’s never a dull moment, this is a page turner that will keep you guessing!
