When I read the synopsis, I thought the book would be told by the three boys accused of killing their principal. Instead most of the excerpt was running commentary by people associated with one of the three or the school itself. There's only about three pages actually told by one of the boys. Maybe the book gets into a flow, but it's hard to glean much from how much we're given to read.
