The First Impression leads me to believe this story has been told before, many times, in many ways. Nothing really stands out here except the cliffhanger at the very end of the excerpt. The story is told in first person point of view which is strike one for me, off the bat. Unsure if this will go on my TBR, but I definitely wouldn't purchase it. I do judge a book by its cover (a character flaw of my own) and this is one I wouldn't give a second look.
