Picture Us In The Light turned out to be a much heavier book than I initially anticipated. Lots of social issues are addressed through the book and juggled well, plus the realistic storyline of Danny contemplating what he'll do with his future.

What I loved most was Danny's characterization and voice. This was a character that sounded like a teenage boy and came off as very believable. For me, seeing him unfold as a character and spending time in his head is what kept me flipping the pages.

Danny's relationship with his friends were great and it was a lot of fun seeing that chemistry he had with Harry and Regina. Also cool to see the distinct difference of how he was with them and his parents. I thought that relationship was also handled well and it was neat to see the parents play a bigger role than typically seen in a YA novel.

Well worth reading and picking up if this sounds like something of interest to you.

One final note: I love the cover.
