An emotional YA
Picture us in the light is a good book about high school senior artist Danny Cheng who got into a college of his dream (Rhode Island School of Design). Then he discovers some family hidden secrets and the story keeps exploring this issue. Also, there are many questions from Danny and his relationship with Harry. All of this together give some suspense just like if we were opening the Pandora's box.
The books portrays issues such as friendship, professional goals, parental choices/reactions, sexuality and immigration. The sexuality approach is quite a taboo for some people. I must say that some multiple storylines are not fully developed although the ethnic backgrounds were interestingly described. Overall, whether you identify yourself emotionally with this book or not.
