This was just such a truly beautiful book. Kelly Loy Gilbert's writing is truly phenomenal and I it made this book such an enjoyable read. This book tackles so many tough issues and it does so in such a careful and deliberate manner. Gilbert really holds nothing back in this book. Her characters are so realized and authentic, and even characters with negative qualities were still fascinating to read about. This is also a very timely novel that I think many people could relate to right now. Overall, I would really highly recommend this book not only to young adults, but also to any adult I see as well. Gilbert writes in a manner that is relevant for all ages and I can't recommend this book enough.
