This book was amazing. I was excited to read it because I am also a college student and it feels like there aren't a lot of fiction books with that theme, and also because I'm a student at the University of Michigan. But it was so much more than a story about a boy going to college. It is a story of family and love and the things that bring us together. And I love reading about cultures that are somewhat unfamiliar to me, and Filipino culture would definitely fall into that category. I loved learning about it. Also, I think this is a relevant and powerful story that really relates to the war of drugs happening in America and the disproportionate impact it's had on different populations. I definitely recommend it.
