Jay is the typical American teenager— he loves video games, he’s planning to go to college, he has a testy relationship with his parents and siblings. All except his relationship with Filipino cousins, Jun. he and Jun are about the Sam age and write to each other fro very different places. Jay’s dad is distant but loving. Jim’s dad is a controlling tyrant. Then Jay stops writing Jun and Jun runs away from home. And then Jay learns that Jun has died, and not only has he died but his death is shrouded in shame and mystery.
Jay decides to travel to the Philippines to find out what happened to Jun. what follows is a journey.
