Thank you for the chance to read a bit of this story. I have seen this book all over the book community and was very excited to get the opportunity to read this. Our main character is half white and half Filipino. I really enjoyed the diversity of this character. There is a big lack of books about the Filipino community and those of us who are a mixed race. The Filipino representation and introduction to the culture was one of my favorite parts of the story. Overall the subject matter in this book was not light and definetly was a hard hitting contemporary story. This gave you a glimpse of "the war on drugs", the filipino-american culture, and what it is to lose someone special and to have to live with the guilt of that. Cant wait to read more!
