At first I was skeptical. We follow Jay who goes back home to the Philippines in order to find out how his cousin was murdered. The original reason was because his cousin was part of the drug war in the Philippines. No one seemed to care about his death not even his own family but Jay goes to uncover the truth.
This book is powerful and the writing is wonderful. Even though Jay and his cousin lost contact a few years earlier he is so bothered by all the events because Jay himself does not feel accepted by his own family. Overall I think this book was wonderful and would suggest others to read it. You feel plenty of emotions throughout and you really makes you think about how others live, especially in other countries where conflict is happening
