First off, the cover of this book is really beautiful, and the story inside was likewise great! I had no problems with the style of writing, and enjoyed the story. I think the plot was satisfactory, and it was interesting to see as the main character, Jay, explored his heritage in a country he hadn't visited since he was little. Throughout the story, you begin to understand what happened to his cousin, and the impact that it had on Jay. You also see as he interacts with his extended family and learns about their lives, and how they handle the loss of Jay's cousin. He realizes his own ignorance, which I think translates over to the audience as well. So many events that have recently or are currently taking place in the world remain unknown to many people not experiencing it, and this book really pointed that out.
