Wow. I love how this is written. That first chapter, how cut up he was about the pup. It was so evocative. It said everything about Jay! Then we get his easy, shallow, American life where he didn’t feel strongly and was without compassion. So relatable. Then his cousin. It was a wake up call. A life changing event!
Smart how he convinced his parents to allow him to go. I’m totally immersed! Jay has got to find our what happened to his cousin... what he does with that knowledge? I haven’t a clue but I’m excited to find out!! To see a glimpse into Filipino culture through Jay’s eyes.
I love Asian culture! Reading about it, sharing it with others and shouting about the best books... I suspect Patron Saints of Nothing is going to be one worth shouting about!
