I'm not usually a fan of books that become to heavy. I like to read books to escape and go on adventures. That being said, I loved the fact that this novel is set in the Philippines. There aren't enough books that truly dive into the culture. I also think the overall message of this books sounds important, and I'm hopeful that the rest of the story is just as impactful.
