One More Moon tells the real-life story of one family's escape from Germany-occupied Italy during WWII. Written down by Ralph Webster and told through the words of his grandmother, Elsa, this looks to be an interesting read.

This nonfiction work is written in a very engaging and relatable way. Even though this is told through the words of Elsa - a woman recounting this harrowing time in her life - it doesn't read like a dry history or memoir. Instead, the style is more flowery and flowing, as if we were sitting and listening to Elsa tell us the story in her own words, complete with exclamations, interjections, and wandering thoughts. From the first few pages, I can already tell that I like Elsa's character, and I want to know more about her and her life.

Side note: I do not like the cover, especially the blocks of color on the top and bottom as well as the font style. They are both jarring and do not seem to fit with the story at all. I think it would be more relatable if maybe Elsa was on the cover or if the picture in the middle were to take up the whole cover instead of a sliver of it?

But I digress. Even though I don't like the cover, I did like the writing and the subject of the book, and I will probably check it out when it is released next month (February 2018).
