At first I was not too interested in reading the book. I like certain nonfiction books, but I am very picky with how it is written. If the author sounds like they are trying too hard to sound "intellectual" or use words that they would not normally use, then I get turned off quickly. However, this book seems to stay true to the author, or at least that is how it reads.
I was instantly sucked into the story. I mean, how interesting is it really to read about a decision to buy an old building? And yet, I was hanging onto every word. This story reads like fiction in the sense that it moves smoothly along.
Even though the sections I read did not get into the gritty parts of the story, I enjoyed the set up, and I can only imagine just how good the narrative gets as the plot becomes deeper and darker.
