I loved the prologue pages to this story, setting up a mystery that is not only intriguing on its own, but more so with its connection to the story we are told to expect: that of a family attempting to flee Italy during WWII. I enjoy historical novels, and this one seems well-written and approaching a well-covered period of time from a unique and interesting angle. Very interesting!
