A gruesome and torturous murder was a phenomenal way to open this book up. I was immediately hooked.
I enjoyed that there were stories within the main story. I liked the story of Detective Jarsdel and his interactions with the people around him. It was refreshing being able to see his character develop into a confident and capable cop.
The investigation into the murder of the burned man was very detailed and I loved the surprise criminal. It was very well thought out by the author and I liked being able to follow the investigation with Detective Jarsdel.
The second interwoven investigation into the serial dog killer was also well placed. I thought the author's perpetrator had a very believable background.
Overall I think that One Day You'll Burn is a very good thriller that delivers more than the standard gumshoe story line.
