This is the first book of a new series and although I’m not a huge police book lover, the synopsis had me interested, and I wanted to give it a go.

California is definitely known for its wildfires, and now there’s a killer out there who pretty much cooked a person. Detective Tully Jarsdel is assigned to the morbid case, but can he figure this out?! A body charred leaving no clues?!?!

This was a new take on a crime novel. Usually with cop stories, they're all about the same type, and it's normally not one that's super impressive. Typically brash, rough, and loud...Detective Jarsdel is charming, and adds a flair to the story I wasn't expecting. You can't help but fall right in love with him.

This was definitely refreshing, and a new breath as far as crime books go. Some parts were a little hard to read, but overall, I enjoyed this book!
