Let's start with the cover. Is it eye-catching? kind of. I like the contract of the two main colors, but I don't really like that the image is sideways. That could just be my preference though.

This is my first book by Joseph Schneider.

Detective Tully Jarsdel is not your typical LAPD police officer, and that's what makes him a fantastic main character. His partner is Morales, and while they don't always see eye-to-eye, this case forces them to put their differences aside and work together. This case is blatantly different than the rest, and it appears to be a ritualistic murder. The body is burned beyond belief.

This book was written well. The main characters were well-developed. The storyline was realistic and scary.
