What stood out to me right away was the way the author describes the scene with almost scientific detail, without coming off as detached or calculated. The transition from the coyote to Sparks was seamless. Everything about this book so far makes me want to read more and see what happens. This author already demonstrates an ability to capture the reader and it's only the first couple of pages.
