This book opens with a coyote nibbling on a dead body—and manages to get more gruesome from there. When the cops arrive, it’s a little but crazy at the crime scene, with press trying to take photos of the body and news copters flying overhead. A former professor who is now a cop is point on the case, and he doesn’t have much hope of solving it.
