Nice and grisly -- just as I like them!

I love a gritty police procedural with a really bad villain and a detective who isn't too messed up to be able to solve a difficult and complicated case. The writing drew me in and I could almost feel that I was there on the scene, seeing the burnt corpse, trying not to retch from the odor, and feeling a bit anxious as I realize this is something new, something really bad.

I want to know more.
