The opening paragraphs of this novel ring very reminiscent of early Robert Crais books featuring Elvis Cole. I'm completely drawn in by the descriptions of the grisly discovery of a body in such a busy yet remote location. I enjoy the cover as it relays a feeling of the sky in Southern California - hazy, yet bright and full of palm trees and sun, all while a little mystery is hiding below the skyline.
