Draws you right in
Very rarely do I read novels where I am sucked in at the first sentence and reluctant to put it down. I read the first two chapters of One Day You'll Burn and was aching to read more.
Detectives Jarsdel and Morales are called the scene of a body burnt beyond recognition in Hollywood. They are tasked with identifying the body and solving the murder.
Joseph Schneider reminds me of Michael Connelly. He writes Hollywood and LA as a character. His opening line, "Hollywood was at its worst in the early morning" is reminiscent of Raymond Chandler. And starting the story following a coyote was just brilliant.
I can't wait to finish this book.
