The book starts out with a detective encountering a coyote eating a corpse. It's pretty gross, and I'm not sure if the rest of the book is as gory. It's not violent gore, but also not for the weak stomachs. This book seems to be a decent crime thriller, so for those interested in that genre, enjoy.
