After finishing the much anticipated debut novel Long Bright River, I was craving another police drama. One Day You'll Burn looks like it will deliver both thrills and drama. The inter-working of the LAPD, filled with egos and big personalities, along with a vivid description of a heinous crime set this novel up to be an engaging, can't put down investigative read for the crime novel enthusiast. Set in the communities surrounding LA, the character conflicts and diversity of voices found in the beginning pages leave me anticipating dialogue rich in cultural confrontations.
