The cover caught my attention. It was creative the way the skyline is horizontal and the title is vertical.

The first sentence of the description let me know I would be interested in reading this book. It helped that the sentence was all by its self. I realized after, that I clicked on "enter to win" after reading that sentence. Then when I saw that you needed us to write a detailed first impression I went back to read the full description. That sentence alone would not get me to purchase the book but it would get me to read it from a library or for free. I will read just about any mystery, especially psychological thrillers.

I like that it is the first of a series. If I get involved with the characters I like to read more.

The relationship between Decetitive Tully and his partner seems intriguing and possibly comical. I look forward to seeing how that relationship plays out.

I like the idea that NetGalley is collaborating with BookishFirst for book giveaways. I hope you find the first impression information helpful. I found it challenging to come up with a new title for a book I haven't read yet.

I wish NetGalley would use our Goodreads "want to read" shelf to email us when an author or a book we want to read is available to request.
