I really enjoyed this book. Historical fiction is my favorite genre and this book really fit with a lot of other books I enjoy reading. I thought the author did a great job of making me attached to the characters and their journey. I thought the author did a wonderful job of painting the scene and making me feel as if I was there with Olive, the main character, as you probably could have guessed from the title. She used beautiful descriptions to give vivid detail into the world surrounding Olive. I do think the one negative for me is I kind of get bothered when it seems there are so many tiny little detailed descriptions or at least ones that drag on for too long. Some felt unnecessary or fewer words could have been used to describe it just as well, but this just a personal pet peeve of mine. Overall, this book made me want to buy and read more books by this same author.
