I really enjoyed reading about the part carrier pigeons played in WWII in England. Olive was an interesting young woman who raised pigeons and worked with her father in his veterinarian practice when needed. When a nosey neighbor is murdered, Olive puts into practice her investigative skills learned from Agatha Christy.
Along the way she is tapped to help the war effort with her pigeons. This is a slow moving story, but does have plenty to think about and twist plots. Not my favorite book, it was a little slow in all of the story. The romance was a little off and I definitely wanted more background
On the pigeon training. However the writing was good and grammatically correct. That automatically gives an extra star from me everytime.
I won a copy of this paperback ARC through Bookish. This did not affect my honest review. I look forward to the next in the series to see what Olive can get up to next.
