I haven’t completely finished this book yet because I have been really busy lately, but so far this book is pretty great. I love the characters and the story and literally everything. It was a little slow at first but most books are like that for me and it quickly got better and that’s what matters.
This is the first historical fiction book I’ve read in a long long time and let me say that I was not disappointed by this book. It makes me want to read more! Stephanie Graves did an amazing job writing this book and getting the period right. World War II is one of my favorite time periods to read and reading from this perspective was pretty interesting. I loved the carrier pigeons and the murder mystery too. At first J didn’t know how it was going to go, trying to balance all the very different aspects of this story but in the end it turned out pretty good. While a little boring at times, this book was pretty great overall.
