The character development of Olive and the depth of detail about her life and surroundings is astounding. I feel her anxiousness, concern, and love for her family, country, and birds. The time period carries it's own heaviness and foreboding, but Olive's story feels unique This is the start to a multi-layered story that I want to read more of.
