I can't say that Olive Bright, Pigeoneer sucks me in with an overly compelling opening. But in some regards that can be a good thing - since it feels more like how things would really be for a young woman in a small town in Britain during wartime. It sets a good opening, and hopefully builds up to compelling as the synopsis implies.
