I read The Long Flight Home about the use of homing pigeons in WWII, but in the short excerpt I read about Olive Bright I can see this book will be about far more than just the use of the pigeons during wartime. I find so many of the characters to be interesting and want to know more. I wonder if Olive will ever achieve her goal of becoming more active in wartime activities. I wonder about George and what will happen to him. I wonder what Dr. Ware was using the mice for that Hen caught. I wonder who Margaret is and if she harmed Miss Hesselbeck. I know there is a mystery here to solve. I also wonder how much will be told about the pigeons. I like the author’s descriptions of the characters and feel like I can picture this quaint English village and the people there.
