Olive Bright, Pigeoneer is already amazing. Olive is such a strong and funny character. Her interaction with saying goodbye to George in the beginning made me feel a wealth of emotions--sadness at the goodbye, nostalgia in the recounting of their previous mischief, hope than George will be okay, humor at their bickering... If Stephanie Graves can already make me feel this much just in that one scene, I'm thrilled to continue with the rest of the book.

I'm also excited to continue reading to learn more about messenger birds. I know I'm not the only one out there that wonders about how that works. I will say that, growing up on a farm, I have come to despise pigeons and the mess they make in our barn, so I will definitely be picturing gross, annoying creatures every time Olive lovingly talks about her birds...
