Historical fiction with an element of mystery

The synopsis of Olive Bright, Pigeoneer sounds like an interesting enough concept, although it seems comparable to another book I read last year on the use of messenger pigeons in World War II. One of my favorite genres is historical fiction, but I’m not interested enough in this topic to read another novel with such a similar storyline. I do like that this book seems to also have an added element of mystery which will certainly appeal to a large number of readers.
